Raphael Alejandro US citizen was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on May 9, 1990. He is the son of Raphael Alejandro Sr., a retired Colonel in the Puerto Rican National Guard, and Carmen Milagros (née Rivera), a schoolteacher. He has two younger siblings: Rebecca and Roberto.
Alejandro’s father served in the Gulf War and his mother is from Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. The family moved to Miami, Florida, when Alejandro was five years old. He attended Miami Dade College before transferring to Florida International University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice.
Alejandro joined the United States Army Reserve in 2009 and was commissioned as an infantry officer in 2010. He served two deployments to Afghanistan as a platoon leader with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). In 2013, he was assigned to the Pentagon as an Army liaison to the Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service.
In 2016, Alejandro transitioned from active duty to the Army Reserve and began working as a federal law enforcement officer with the Diplomatic Security Service. He currently serves as a security advisor for the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq.
